counter strike 1.6 qeustion

yo i have a question about cs 1.6. why is it when i am on a dark map where a flashnight is needed (nightvision not allowed) my flashlight shows up as a small circle on a nearby wall and doesnt really work well at all, but some other players seem to have a glow of light around them,is this a flashlight mod or something for improved flashlights i have looked on the internet but i only got website with downloading hacks on such as wall hack which i dont want does anyone know about a flashlight mod or a way to improve it? if so were can i get it from any help will be greatly appriciated
 
The flashlight looks a lot different to you then it does for the person using it. When you shine your flashlight say, on a wall, you will see a concentrated circle, however when others do it, it will appear as a faint glow over a longer distance. I dont believe this is any kind of mod or anything, but just the way the game works.
