Cpmpaq Presario Problem

Hi Everyone,
I have a Compaq Presario 1247 (somewhere under 400MHZ). The computer came with Win 98 and I decided to upgrade to Win 2000. After installation, when I turn the computer on it gives me the Win 2000 screen with the little bar showing the "loading" progress; however, when the bar reaches the end, the computer screen goes black and it starts downloading again. A couple of times 2000 downloaded, as I heard the "chimes", but again, nothing on the screen.

I can start on Safe mode with no problem .... I was even able to install my card to gain access to my network. I have done all the upgrades from Microsoft and done a couple of reinstalations ... but no success. All the drivers are working and there seems to be no conflict.

Any suggestions?

Check your video settings in safe mode.

Did you uninstall the original operating system before you installed Windows 2000?
Admins, could interference of other files cause this?
