cpu fan facing other direction

Ok, now i've built computers before, but i just thought about this now. Better to ask instead of tryin then cryin:)

What would happen if i turned the cpu fan around the other way?
Dont i want the heat moving away from the cpu instead of being blown back onto it?

Wouldn't the sucking action of the fan offer better heat dispersal?

Sucking air from the heatsink is more passive than directly blowing air onto the heatsink.

Some computers such as Dell's combine the rear exaughst and the CPU fan into one, thus placing the fan at the rear behind the heatsink blowing outward.

However, generally if you do this to your computer you will see a temperature increase.

think about it this way: if your food is hot do you blow directly on it or do you stick your mouth close to it and inhale...?
