soooooi bought crysis 2 days ago....and its frikin awesome...i think. the only bad thing is...i play with about 20 fps average :(....with my system....thats on like 1168 x 900 reso (yea i had to pick some weird ass reso other than that my frames rop even more, and with mainly medium setting with some high with no aa...so be prepared because this game WILL kick your computers ass. im thinkin i should be gettin better than 20 fps...buuuuuutttt im not, now if i just look at some rocks...ill get like 35-40...but fighting....20....drops to 15.....up to 25.. when the 9800gtx's come in, maybe a local computer store will trade me and ill give em some cash on the side, pretty sad i have to updat my video card already and i just got it a month ago,... lol

on 1280x1024 with high settings, i get a steady 20fps. In heavy firefights, it goes down to 15. That i am happy with :) the new ati cat 7.11 helped imensly, before i needed it to be 1024x768 on medium before i could get playable frame rates. A real good game :D

all_out_06, sounds like ur comp can muster a bit more power than that. You got all the latest drivers, vid, mobo and such?

well...at least this isn't a game where you need to zip accross the map with any sort of speed. spend more time walking and crawling then anything else. with the slow movement, the lower FPS isn't bad and it appears fluid. The motion blur keeps it looking fluid when you do move fast.

But yea, All_out_06, theres gotta be something up with your pc.
The PC in my sig gets around 20-30FPS in the game with most things on high, some on very high, 4x AA, and at a 1280x1024 resolution. Sometimes it'll drop to 15, sometimes get near 30, but usually stays between 20 and 25

Well i've completed this game and played it all the way through on 1600X1200, medium settings across the board. Not bad for an X1950XT :)

yea heres the thing, that was me palying it for the first time the other night...now last night a tried playing it again and i could play it at 1440 x 900 (i think thats what it is) with all on high and id get like 20 - 45 fps...drop to 15 in heavy fire. BUT....that was after i oc'd my cpu, and after playin for about 45 min, it just froze up...weird huh, and i have the latest video drivers and my mobo drivers are the ones that came with my evga mobo...i think i need to update my mobo drivers...but im not too sure how.? do u just go to the website download them and install them? or do i have to remove my old ones first? if thats the case i dunno how to remove them

just head over the nvidia.com and go to the download section. Download the correct ones and just install them over the top of the ones u got :)

o my god, whats wrong with quad 8800 gtx systems, i've seen quite of them not being able to handle crysis. Whats the big deal? i mean my 7600GT! gives me ~35fps in low, why wouldn't a 8800GTX max it out! i dont get it...

low settings look worse than far cry on high.

i played the demo a couple times on 1280x800 all medium except shaders high. looks alright with 20'ish fps, to be realistic. i think some are not checking the fps, motion blur helps clean it up allooott

because it needs more then that to run maxxed out :P
low is really crappy. high is really good.

ram is far more important to gaming since all the models, sounds, etc need to get loaded into it before the video card can use it.
lots of people still only use 1 or 2 gb of ram and believe that anything more then that is nothing but a waste.

I have the same card (7600GT KO) and I play at medium settings with AA 2X @ 1280x1024 resolution.

hm it did start doin that after i oc'd the processor but i havent ean prime95 yet, im still tryin to figure out how to use it. You think i should add an extra gig of ram? I have 3 already. But ill try to run prime95 tonight. I check my core temp too I think its only gettin up to 53 Celsius with coretemp program, hopefully the patch thats suppose to come out soon with give us like 10 fps

I would personally use Orthos, because it is utilized for dual-cores. It can test RAM and CPU stability at the same time.

I run it on High, 4x AA, 1024x1280... It runs at around 30FPS... It is pretty smooth... DX10 is just inefficient as all of Hell broken loose.. Stupid Microsoft makes DX10.1 which runs on a $230 card more efficiently and on the heels of mine, and here I sit, screwed over, with a DX10 $530 card.
