medal of honor is coming out soon as well as call of duty's new game (black ops).
as far as moderately old ones, i like GRID for racing (though some argue it is inaccurate blah blah blah), ac2 for story, dead space for a thrill (and dead space 2 is coming out soon), need for speed shift, and battlefield bad company 2 (another one is coming out but not very soon i don't think). you might also like mafia ii. very fun game (but be warned, it isn't a sandbox game at all).
