Different HD

I have a 80GB Western Digital HD and i want to get another HD. Is it better to get the same brand HD or can i get any one
 
Are you going to be running them together in the same system? If so then the make doesnt matter at all, just make sure that you get the same speeds (I.E. ATA100 ATA133 etc...). Not because they wont run together, because they will. It's to avouid bottlenecks and speed losses.
 
i didnt know that if drives are in RAID they need to be identical i thought it was any drives that could be put into a RAID setup together.
