disk on key problem

I have a disk on key, and when I plug it in my computer, things goin' right,
and I can see it's icon in 'My Computer' directory but I cannot enter
it because it says: "Please insert a disk into drive E:"
what shuld I do ?
shuld I format it ? if yes, how ?

Have you transferred any file onto it that you want to keep? If you want to format it, just right click the driver and select "Format". But if it wont even let you in it, I don't think it will even allow you to format it.

How old is it? Have you hit it against anything hard, or perhaps put it next to a magnet? That can damage it for good...
