? idk why but i expected black ops to be more like cod4 but its like to arcade like to me(graphics) and maps are bad i think. kina bored of it leveling is too easy buying gun camo makes the game boring.

so i was wondering if it was worth playing cod4 cause mw2 has too many hackers in my opinion

do alot of people still play cod4? cause that game was sick :D

Honestly dude! COD4 has more players then Black ops has after all these years. I agree with you. COD4 has 100's of servers full. Get into promod if you havnt already done so!? The netsky servers are great!

Personally I think that CoD4 was the last of the good CoD games. MW2 and Blops just aren't that great. Spent £29 on Blops and wish I had spent that on WoW:Cataclysm lol. I don't play CoD4 anymore, but have considered trying it again.

BF:BC2 is the best FPS of the moment imo :)
 
Promod...isn't.

It has no sights, only silencers or no attatchement, ADS is much faster, there is no recoil, only certain weapons are available (I think it is 2 per class, of which there are 4), there are no perks, some versions have it where you can "chase" grenades, which lets you go anywhere on the map, which is just stupid in my opinion, it is an awful mod.

If you check Xfire, CoD4 is still the second most played game, after WoW, there are always hundreds of servers populated all over the world at any time of the day, on normal servers or modded, of which there are hundreds of mods, hundreds of custom maps and pretty much endless gameplay, it is so much better than MW2 was, it is so much better than BO is.

Casual CoD playing is still going strong, competitive CoD4 playing is probably stronger than ever, it is turning into the modern day CSS, where it has newer games out, but people still play it much more than them, and it is starting to become the game you expect at gaming tournaments or leagues

i have bfbc2 but im so sick of the servers being slow or shitty for me atleast

cod4 is like the CSS of modern gaming?
then i will play css has aways been a favorite of mine

I don't mean gameplay wise, I mean in its apparent invincibility as a most played game

people play a game that is well made and reliable :) most of the time thats what makes css good reliability i think ^^
 
Like all COD games, over time you get transition to the new games. I remember in the UK playing COD2, with russians. Now, try and get a server = no chance. BO is the best COD game, especially once they fix the spawn fail.
 
When the game came out in 2007 this (iw3mp.exe has stopped working) was
giving lots of people trouble me included.The problem most people found was down to Realtek sound cards,cant remember the solutions but someone will post them up i hope as the problem still persist today.Hope that has helped.

There was a problem where you would be playing, and the game would crash. If you aren't sure about the file system, CoD4 has 2 exe files (as do most CoD games):

iw3sp.exe (single player)
iw3mp.exe (multi player)

it waqs caused by sound problems. The problem was around in CoD:WaW as well, which used the same engine, however, generally in WaW the problem was that when you opened the game it would stay on a black screen and not load.

To fix it you had to change the sound quality in the sound settings, and then it would work.

Now, on my computer and on my sisters computer, which I have been using to game on whilst mine has been out, I have not had the problem with the crash ever. I think I had it for a short period on my old system with P5N-E SLI onboard audio, but that went after a patch, so I think, to answer your question russ, it has gone now mate. If it hasn't for you, there is a way to sort it.

Also russ, Ash (insomnia) had the game crash for him whenever certain maps came up. We thought it was graphical at first because it would only happen in maps with either a lot of grass (overgrown, creek etc) or on those with effects (bloc and bog with the flaming barrels for instace), but turned out his map files were corrupt, so he had to reinstall. So it is generally either the problem he had, which requires a reinstall, or if you have the game through steam, checking the files, or changing the sound settings through the control panel to change the quality
 
My computer has been sent back to Novatech as i have problems for them to sort out under warranty.
