does it run at 2100 or 2700

if anyone is familiar with the hp pavillion a336n, it has two slots it saids maximum upgrade is 1gb other place specs is 2gb but what i want to know is both saying that it can use 2700 rams but messages at 2100 does it mean it will run at 2700 speed but the bios will say it is 2100 or it will run at 2100 even if both modules are 2700?

If you max out the memory slots, it will run at 2100. If you use all but 1 of the memory slots, it will run at 2700.
