Hi All

I got that codemasters racing bundle a week months back off steam..

Now Ive downloaded all the games and what not... but Im thinking that I wanna do a formatt and reinstall my whole computer...

So Im wonder, is there anyway to backup these games that ive downloaded from steam?

I have my HDD partitioned so when I formatt Ill only be formatting one the OS partition not the massive data partition where I keep all the stuff I dont wanna lose.

I'm not really sure if you can back them up as you can always just redownload the games.

You can back up the games. Right click on the games and select backup (i think)

Bear in mind that this will only backup the default files. You might just want to backup your entire "steamapps" folder.

Going on from what Linkin said, you right click and go backup.
It will ask what size or something do you want it backed up, it says cd 700 and dvd 4.7 gb, I have found that only the dvd one works.
Don't do it straight to a DVD first, backup and then put that backup on a dvd, then after you format just put in the disc and double click and it will re-install that game.
Any addons won't be included.

I just reformatted and reinstalled from a backup. Easiest way (for me) was to just copy steamapps (inside the steam program files folder) onto external drive. Fresh install steam after the reformat and replace the steamapps folder with the one from the external hard drive.

This might be a little sketchy because theydont show up in Add Remove Programs but its what I read from the steam website and works fine (the few times I've done it).

I guess steam does have a back up feature: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8794-YPHV-2033

Or you can move the installation (which is what I was describing I guess): https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7418-YUBN-8129
