Dragon Age Origins and physx

I recently had an incident with my PC and as a result it wont run more recent drivers. I am actually very happy with the 197 version nvidia drivers but Dragon Age seems to be giving me that infamous "Error initializing physx" error.

Does anyone know a way around this or better yet, a way of forcing an earlier workable version of physx to install(such as the one provided on the CD)?

I tried uninstalling physx but I still get the same error message, any ideas?

What exactly is the problem with the newer drivers? The most current ones (for me anyway) are 260.99

That's what I had too but when I tried to install the new beta drivers (after uninstalling rebooting and running driver sweeper), the drivers would freeze about 1/4th of the way through and simply say the installation had failed.

No details were even released. So I went back to the 260.99 drivers and the same thing happened.

I reverted to the 197's right then and they've worked fine (although nvidia control panel did not install).

Problem (or whatever it was) is fixed, newer drivers are running fine again.
