ive noticed a fairly large drop in RAM prices in the past week. does anyone know if theres anything behind this or is it just getting easier to produce as time goes on?

When the new "bells and whistles" arrive the price tag is always on the high side for anything. Then one single hardware that will see prices remain high is memory. Why? That's due to the need for replacements somewhere down the road. Look at prices seen on PC100 and PC133 memory for old systems. Some of those are higher then DDR memory.

If you want to restore an old system you will often pay more then vendors that want to draw in more business by lowering prices for current system builders. It keeps them coming back!
