Dual game setup

Is there anyway to setup a computer with dual-monitors to play a different game on each monitor or say game for that matter and be able to play it at the same time? like my friend would play on that monitor and i would play on the other? can you do taht:confused:

yeah you probably could as long as each game could be run in windowed mode, but you would have to have a dual head video card and it would probably tear your system to shreds as far as performance goes

oh yeah i bet it would proble kill my system but it depends on what game and settings i probley play at right okay thanx

i've got two of those just wondering how i would be able to my the stuff work because if i take two mice and plug them in won't the mice both be controlling both sides of the screen and stuff liek taht

I doubt that will work, since when you click on one window it will become the "primary" application, and then the other game won't respond to the keyboard etc.

It wont work, because OpenGL can only render one program/game at a time. Which is why there are many issues with using the GUI F@H while trying to game.

I can run 2 games with my current pc,.. but the problem is the controls. besides that, its much easyer to jsut put 2 pc's next to eachother if yu ask me.

Silent hunter 3 and World of Warcarft, can them both at the same time once, since i had to wait in WoW and didnt want to do nothing ^^

But are they both on the screen at the same time, or is one minimized while the other is up?

Direct X only does one app at a time, and you can only have one mouse and one keyboard running at the same time, also, only one window can be the primary window at once, you can't have both.
I'm pretty darn sure about all of that, but if I'm wrong, tell me. :)

I've heard that it was OpenGL, but DirectX could also work that way.

And you can have multiple mice, but in reality its just one for the computer, just either one can be moved. So if you have two setup, whatever you make with one mouse will make both games move.

And its true that only one window can be primary, but if they tried running each game in a window, then they might be able to move one to the second screen.
