DirtyD86 - when u say that, do u mean the pc will be better in graphics or the ps3?

in 2009 the latest PC games will make ps3 look prehistoric

Like some have touched upon as a sytems life progesses the graphics will improve creaping closer to dx10 standards. I m sure you have a great system but for $600 the Ps3 is the better value for gaming i feel.

Lion is right, I feel. A 8600gts won't be able to play Crysis on high, and a console that has just recently been released, and has 4+ years of life left is the greater value by far. But you'll have both, and Ratchet and clank, final fantasy, MGS, gran turismo, and all the others will make make up for the 8800 loss.

Good choice, IMO.

you guys r putting crysis on the highest bloody pedistool ever, its not going to be a game that cant be played by any1, they would lose money from making it a "high end pc" only game.

I'm in the MP beta, and can play it respectably with my 7600gt\Oc'ed X2 3800. BUT with better tech than me (top of the line) you can play it with more eye candy, and if the game trailers are anything to go by, that's some mighty fine looking eye candy. Those of us with mediocre components can play it, sure, but if you got some good stuff, Crysis' graphics will blow your mind.... What I was getting at.
