So I host my own ftp server (u-serv ftp) on my home network, and I can access it fine on my main computer using windows explorer. I can also go through some FTP proxies and filezilla and access it fine. My friend has tried 3-4 different ftp programs and the farthest he has gotten is with filezilla, it comes up with this error.

Error: Transfer channel can't be opened. Reason: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.
Error: Could not retrieve directory listing

Can anyone help him get onto the ftp server?

Is you friend on your network or is he trying to access your server over the internet?

He is trying to access over the internet.

EDIT: Almost forgot, both of us have forwarded our routers and modems ports to 2121 (thats what I set u-serv to).

sounds like a firewall problem

He has turned all his firewalls off.

What about you? Your firewall could be what's blocking his access. That's probably why it says you're not responding.
