ethernet ...... frozen

yeaaah.....
i tried pluggin this ''ethernet'' cord in my comp to my modem and it froze me to where i had to restart my computer, iam connected by a usb from the same router so....

any thoughts cause i got a lan party saturday
 
no.... i dont belive so
i have a wireless router with ethernet ports but i had to unplug the ethernet cord from modem to router so....i unplugged the usb to computer

Still not really following. Most modems should have an ethernet and usb option when installing. Are you saying the usb part is plugged into your pc and the ethernet part is plugged into your router?
