every time i see a new game using the latest technology i think "it couldnt possibly get any better than this". and the devs are constantly proving me wrong.
 
A little bit better than Operation wolf on my Amstrad 464. Just think its not just graphics your looking at every branch and bush has physics calculated.

The best way to imagine future game graphics is look at special effects in films. computer hardware is always catching them up diference is they can get away with 1 frame every hour but we need 30frames per second in a game so graphics in films have every effect accuracy on full the makers still use the same hardware as used for playing games to manage those effects. mmmm give it 10 years and we might have global illumination and caustics in our games and dust with physics calculations.
