alright , when i'am sitting on PC doing nothing intresting or lets say absolutely nothing at all .. i feel extremly exhausted and my head pains and my eyes burns ( escpeially when its hot here ).. Now i have a LG Studioworks 454V ( repaired today ) but now for some reasons all that ain't happening with me rite now .. there was a problem with my fly back but he found few faults on other stuff which deals with the brightness and all .. so it was perfectly adjusted today ..

MAYBE this head pains e.t.c also happend to me when i had an older monitor .. so to the point .. can some monitors bring this effect to us?? HELP!!

Lcd's are much easier on the eyes than CRT's. With speeds of LCD's increasing they are becoming the best thing to get.. even for gaming.

my max refresh rate is 85 HZ .. and i guess its smooth enuf to be easy on my eyes .. but i was talking about radiation stuff .. does that makes a difference??

Did you buy your monitor second hand? Was it from 3 mile Island?

Otherwise you should be ok...

Carefully check things like focus and convergence. I bought a used monitor once and it gave me headaches until I focused it.
Tom

na its first hand but kinda old now and repaired twice , i guess ( once for a really small problem .. not related to radiation stuff at all )

ok ... if my monitor getting REALLY , REALLY hot!! that has something to do with the radiation levels??

 3 Mile Island emitted no radiation outside of the containment facilities.

Monitors get hot. Mine even gets too hot to touch, on occasion. That is normal. If it catches on fire, you might have a slight problem, though. Especially if it is radioactive. Then you have to deal with the smoke, atmosphere polluting, etc. You could even be a second Chernobyl.

There was obviously stuff inside... Joke? Haha, supposed to make you laugh?? ;)

crt produce much more output than lcds, that would be my guess why it is hurting your head. I wouldn't necessarily say that it is radiation but crts are definately the worse for output reasons.

This is normal for a CRT moniter.

Output of what? If you are talking about electromagnetic radiation, then yes. The CRTs and the phosphor that coats the screen both give off EMR. In an LCD it is less, because it lacks the CRT. But it still gives off EMR, because of the phosphor (I think)

Ya, sorry didn't have time to remember the specific radiation, but yes crt produce a lot more radiation than lcds, but thats because of how they work.

yeah, i have sensitive eyes.....sometimes i have this nightmare where *sniffle* my monitors on 6...6...60HZ!!! *crys* oh my god its horrible! could it be a connection problem!?!? video card drivers?!?! why wont you go to 85!!!!

it pains me just to think about it......

but anyway. yeah i love lcd's its like an eye massage

I have an older Dell LCD monitor..25ms response time I think:rolleyes:
its at 75hz and pretty high on the brightness. It used to kill my eyes until I put a lamp behind it so I could get light behind it. (A bright screen in a dark area hurts my eyes for some reason). My eyes still don't feel too good when i'm on the comp for a long time, ofcourse contacts don't help at all.

What resolution are you using?

If you are using a resolution of 1024 x 768 on a 14” monitor, then theirs your problem.
