FO:New Vegas lag?

so confused...it's not low FPS, or lag or stuttering, out of randomness, my player will start walking and i cant stop him for 5 seconds...then, my mouse lags around slowly too, i get a steady 60 FPS, and i have tried putting my settings to the lowest...and no i do not have an Nvidia card, i have ATI.

Try reinstalling drivers and do a full removal of the first using drivesweeper can download it here - http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/ . My buddy had a same problem and this fixed it. Worth a shot at the very least.

Make sure you have the latest patches. Also don't use driver sweeper, it's proven to cause problems installing windows service packs by deleting things it shouldn't.

I used driver sweeper 2 days ago to get rid of my ATi drivers since I don't have my 5770 any more, and then yesterday installed Win 7 SP1 without a problem so...

Guess they updated it.

For the OP, try the d3d9.dll fix for new vegas, a quick google search will find it.
