Full screen across two monitors?

I play Diablo II a bit on my laptop and for some reason it won't let me play the game any bigger then something like 800x900 or some stupid resolution like that. my friend has the same laptop only one model year older and it lets him play in full screen while my has the black bars on the left and right. I am wondering if there's a way to stretch it across 2 screens or to how to fix the resolution problem?
 
Maybe it has something to do with the Nvidia Optimus not working properly? When was the last time you updated your GPU drivers? Actually, now that I think about it, what exactly is your GPU driver configuration like? Do you have an Nvidia driver and an Intel driver?
 
Yes I have the 630M and the HD4000 intel graphics. I have the 630M shut off during game play because it causes BSOD's (could not figure out how or why, using a 3rd party glide rapper which is probably why) so that could be why but not entirely sure because even on the 630M (had it on for a while) it wouldnt' go that big

Yeah, I would think that maybe there's an incompatibility between your Glide Wrapper and your GPU or GPU drivers. Does a Google search on your problem with the Glide Wrapper turn up anything?
 
and I have the latest GPU drivers cuz I updated them like 12 times (clean install) and triple checked like EVERYTHING to figure out the BSOD problem...fixed it by just shutting off the Nvidia :P
 
No I can't find anything on it...although I should probably consider that my buddy has a radeon version of my computer...hmm...perhaps I'm just dumb lol! I still wonder if there's anyway to fix things and make the resolution bigger or have it stretch across two screens...
 
It's an ancient game and this is the best known one to work, I'm happy that the game is working but just want a higher res :/....Perhaps I should just have it on the big screen while playing to get a bigger view
