I am hosting a LAN party, CS:S is one of the main games well be playing.
What do I need that will have a server running in the LAN.
Is that source dedicated server? And if so.
Do i download steam onto the LAN computer, then... Download dedicated server?

Or you can just launch the Steam Source dedicated server, and have everyone connect into it.

How many people are going to be at your LAN?
 
Make sure its a decent computer with alot of RAM and you may want to consider having it on a gig port (if you have a gig switch), since there could be up to 24 or more people accessing it at the same time.

yup, the more ram the better, 1gb at least.

100mbit should be fine for a dedicated server considering there are internet servers with 32+ people and they run fine.
