good rpg?

I like playing rpg games, but some good ones like World of warcraft, requires me to pay monthly. I don't want to do that. What are some other good, single player rpg games? I don't have an extreme video card and computer to handle the graphics, so it cant be something like Elder Scrolls 4. But my computer is alright though.:)
 
The Witcher! Based on a revised NWN 2 engine, it's a very good RPG, awesometastic story, good character customization, unique battle system, etc etc. I've been playing it for awhile, and I can't recommend it enough. It sort of feels like Kotor mixed with Baldur's gate or something..

Do you have to pay per month in The Witcher?
 
Hmm. The Witcher looks pretty good, but my computer doesn't even meet the system requirements. I'll keep it in mind if i get a better pc.

The 6200 is sorta low-end.. You'll have trouble playing it, if at all. :( With my 7600gt I play it maxed, but I get some pretty low frames in large areas..

You could upgrade? If you have a decent CPU, a PCI-e bus, and $100 +/- USD, you could be directed towards a great card, capable of gaming like you've never gamed before! Just a suggestion.. :D
 
Pretty obvious to me: Elder Scrolls series.

They're all single player but I think they have great storylines and there aren't any characters going "l0lz, g1\/3 m3 s0m3 173m5!!!!!111111" like in most MMORPG's I've played.
 
Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Neverwinter Nights, The Witcher, Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic.
