Graphic card help

So, I'm trying to play Mafia II on my laptop (about a year old) and things aren't working. I go to open it, it opens to a black screen and 5 seconds later shuts off. I went to http://svc.systemrequirementslab.com/CYRI/ to see if my computer had the right requirements and this is what it came up with:

So, this makes me confused. For the video card it says it's not good enough, yet under it, those 4 things are all green, is there something I am missing?

Any help is really appreciated :)

The minimum required specifications for Mafia 2 do state that it needs at least an 8600GT graphics card,But you must remember that Laptop versions of these chipsets may not always work.
No harm in asking in their official forums though....they could possibly release some patches at a later date that enables it to work properly...but even if they did i doubt the game would run very well at all.

Have you made sure your GFX drivers are up to date?

Unfortunately most laptops are not built for gaming and it seems that this is the problem here. I know i have a 8600 GT on a dell inspiron laptop at home and it struggles with games such as sims 3. With a game this new and graphically demanding I am not suprised it won't let you launch the game. Sorry :(

Alrighty, well it was worth a shot. I had used a program called 3D analyze, which at least let me open the game, but it was so laggy I just couldn't bear it. Thanks for the help! :)

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news do you have another computer you could try it on preferably a desktop?

Well, I have a desktop but it's packed up right now, and even then its a few years older than my laptop, I don't even know if that would have the right specs.

Could be time for a new system if you are looking to play mafia 2. Here at the forums we could set you up a nice gaming rig if you have the money and decide you want to custom build a pc yourself

Believe me, if I had the money I would haha, it's a little tight right now, but I'll make sure the next rig I get I can actually play games on. I have an Xbox 360, but the games on the computer are cheaper I find ;)
