Graphics Mods for Oblivion

Hey all. I've had Oblivion for a while and upon getting Skyrim for Christmas, I completely ignored the game. Well now I want to get some hours into Oblivion and hopefully complete some of the main quest lines.

Now I want to know what graphics mods I should use and how to install them. I'd still like to keep my framerate at 40 or higher. My specs are in my sig and I play at 1600x900.

It really does look great, but I mainly want a boost to textures. They just seem like they could be heavily upgraded without much of a performance hit.

Qarl's Texture Pack III is probably one of the best out there. There are installation instructions in the description section. This mod is big, but fortunately it is split into several parts so it can be more easily downloaded by people with slow or bandwidth limited connections.

You'll also need Oblivion Mod Manager to install the mod.

There is also a mod called Oblivion Graphics Extender, which is quite power hungry but is fortunately customizable.

A lot of mods also require Oblivion Script Extender.
