Half Life 2: Deathmatch problem...

I bought my copy of CS:Source around 5 months ago. It came with HL2, HL2:LC and Dod:S. I've only installed CS:Source and decided to try HL2 two days ago. Once the installation reached 98% usually you'd be able to play the game. So I launched the game, the STEAM window opens saying "Preparing to launch Half Life 2eathmatch". After 5 mins the game still hasn't loaded. Does it really take that long?

You need to wait until it reaches 100% before starting it, shouldnt take that long next time

okay. usually i'd be able to play when it reaches at least 95%. well, that's in CS:Source's. it takes a long time to update even if i'm downloading at 20 kbps+.

yeah you have to start over now if you do that. happened with me in the bioshock demo :/

why is STEAM so slow? my downloads are at 3.0 kbp/s. i only have this issue with STEAM. my settings are correct. DSL > 768 kbp/s.
