In simple terms: Halo 2 will work on DirectX 9.

Im practically jumping up and down waiting for it to be realised. :D

You know, that is if the FAQ was posted by a member of the bungie team, not just a random guy on the street. ;-)

What are the chances of them making the game for just Dx10?

And as you said, if the specs are what we 'found' it will play well?


So really, what are my chances of me playing H2V on the predicted laptop, like... play excellent, well, or poor?

Still not too great, remember that SLi isnt all it's cracked up to be, and that your poor laptop will run HOT with all that stuff in it. A laptop will never outdo a desktop with the same specs.
 
The latest and greatest laptop when it comes out. Which would probably cost four thousand dollars. Otherwise, i really have no idea.

i don't see them requiring DX10 since many people won't upgrade to DX10 video cards any time in the near future. They would be hurting their profit margin by excluding so many potential buyers. I see it being DX9 also.
 
It will probably be backwards compatible, but I hope its DX10, that way it gives you an excuse to buy a better video card :P

Seeing my laptop specs. Will it play well?

It's not the members of the Computer Forum that decide if it will be DX9 or not :P Your making it seem that since we all agree, that it will be.

It will be DX10, but it should be DX9 backwards compatible as well. As for your laptop, i'm sure it would play it, but not on high/max settings.
