My laptop has died and it can't be fixed sadly.
I have thousands of photos on it that I really want to keep. I have an external hard drive dock - so i've had the hard drive plugged into that - but it comes up asking me to format it when I click on the drive in my computer.
So I tried ****** Data Recovery program, It found all my files and recovered them in around 12 hours. Once the recovery was complete to my other computer. I clicked into some of the pictures it comes up saying "photo preview unavailable" same thing with music and documents etc. But all the files sizes are correct - just no image.
Does anyone have an idea whats wrong and how I can get my pictures back?
