hi....
I was wondering.. I just bought an intel C2D E6300 box. Should I get a new heatsink to handle the overclocking?
at which point can I still use my original heatsink? ( which settings of frequency?)

and without any overclocking, I get over 50 degrees celcius on idle, is that normal?
thanks

No 50C is too hot for that on stock settings. Either the heatsink isn't installed properly or you have no airflow in your case.

Yes 50C is on the hot side if its all on stock. LGA775 heatsinks can be a pain to install, and most likely you didnt snap all 4 corners and lock them in properly.
