HELP! WTF is going on here!?

OK, every time I put in a disk in any drive it cant read it wont detect it, wont comply. UNLESS i have the disk in before i reboot my computer. if its in before hand it will eject it, but if i take it out and put it back in the same thing happens!!! I cant open or switch this without this happening!!!

that wouldn't explain why it works when the CD/DVD is already in there before i boot though!
 
try plugging the drive into another computer or an external enclosure to see if it has the same problem. that will tell you if you have a bad drive or not.
 
still don't work. i know for a fact the drives are good!!! And this is really getting on my nerves. i need to transfer a file but i cant burn to a disk and i lost my flash drive! PLEASE I NEED MORE HELP :(
