my computer upstairs is connected to a router downstairs (ISP-Comcast) and so is my brothers. He gets internet, but i don't. I tried to reinstall the drivers n what not but that didnt work so i jsut installed my wireless card that i was using before...the ethernet cable im using isnt bad because i used it on my brothers computer and it worked.

any suggestions would be appreciated :)

Can you ping your bro's computer? Also, are there any problems with the drivers in device manager?
It could also be that your router is blocking access...

There's a few things that it could be.
