Hi guys my laptop is HP G61 have 3 gb ram and the capacity is 4gb i think to buy 1 gb ram what ram is need for that random or only for that laptop. My 3gb ram + the new 1gb ram is = 4gb ram. My question is where to buy and determined ram is (Name)
 
Change the colour of the font vlado that light blue shade is pretty hard to see :)

Do you know what memory you have at the moment ?
 
Your laptop only has 2 memory slots so if you want 4 gb then you will need to remove the 1gb chip and insert a 2gb chip. Looks like you need ddr2 pc2-6400.
 
Oh, i have a 3gb ram no more but my laptop have capacity 4gb look its i can take one more chip with 1gb ram my question is who chip is need special or random?:confused:
 
You can use any brand of memory.

Best to use the same spec of memory you already have, do you have any system info programs to confirm what kind of memory you have ?
 
No, you don't understand, your laptop only has 2 memory slots. Each slot will hold up to 2gb of memory for a total of 4gb. You must have a 2gb chip and a 1gb chip already installed. You will need to remove the 1gb chip and install a 2gb chip to get to 4gb of memory.

In the ram section, if you click on the part that should say slot 1 or slot 2 you should get a dropdown look for bandwidth and it should have something like pc2-6400

Right so long as you get pc2-6400 you will be fine.

You have in slot 1, 1gb hyundai ram

slot 2, 2gb samsung ram

So you need to swap the hyundai 1gb stick with a 2gb stick of pc2-6400
 
You can mix the brand of memory like just now you have one chip of hyundai and one chip of samsung, but both are pc2-6400

So although they are two different brands they are the same type of memory pc2-6400
 
OO my good, bro i ask the name of all chip can u give me site for that. ddr2 pc2-6400 i found that in sites but so expensive. can i use all types ram or special?
 
Any brand name of memory that is pc2 6400 should work in your laptop. Just remove the 1gb chip and insert the 2gb chip. Get cheap Corsair, Gskill, Kingston, Crucial.
 
Can i found any 10,15 dolars?:eek: Give site if found. Im kid and cant pay very much.And for how much dollars i can sell the 1gb chip hyundai ddr2 pc2-6400?
