Hello,

I was surfing the net and all of a sudden I received a bunch of AVG virsu alerts. Also, zone alarm went crazy and asked persmission for some programs to access the net, which I denied all of them. I ran Hijack this and the following is the log. Can someone please tell me what I need to fix/delete. Thank-you

Wow, a crapload of spywares...

These can be killed:

C:\Program Files\Web_Rebates\WebRebates0.exe
C:\Program Files\Internet Optimizer\optimize.exe
C:\Program Files\BullsEye Network\bin\bargains.exe
C:\Program Files\Web_Rebates\WebRebates1.exe
C:\SMC\SMC.exe (if you don't have Sygate Personal Firewall on your system)
C:\Program Files\Windows SyncroAd\SyncroAd.exe
C:\temp\msbb.exe
C:\Program Files\Support.com\bin\tgcmd.exe

and, of course, the related registry entries too...

I also found in my progam files a program that related to all the viruses. I think it is called something like adsync or something like that but I deleted the folder. Then I looked into the "add/remove programs" and saw that I was there and realized that is how I should have deleted it. Please help...I'm about to throw this computer out the window. Thank you very much in advanced!

Please help...I'm about to throw this computer out the window.
Well the entry in Add/Remove isnt a problem because you deleted it manually (minus the reg keys of course) but if you are adament about removing it, going through the registry or doing a reformat would work :)

Get the SP1 fix, MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 (6.00.2600.0000)
Unless you specifically need it, disable remote registry, C:\WINNT\system32\regsvc.exe
If you dont need task scheduler, remove this: C:\WINNT\system32\MSTask.exe
Do you have management scripts running? C:\WINNT\System32\WBEM\WinMgmt.exe
Do you have an mp3 player? C:\WINNT\system32\mspmspsv.exe
Are you running both ZoneAlarm and Sygate? C:\SMC\SMC.exe
Is this an OEM machine? C:\Program Files\Support.com\bin\tgcmd.exe
You most likely dont need this (or want it), C:\Program Files\Ahead\InCD\InCD.exe

Terminate
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Windows SyncroAd] C:\Program Files\Windows SyncroAd\SyncroAd.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [msbb] c:\temp\msbb.exe

C:\Program Files\Web_Rebates\WebRebates1.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ComcastSUPPORT] C:\Program Files\Support.com\bin\tgkill.exe /cleaneahtioga /start

Dont need to start:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NeroCheck] C:\WINNT\system32\\NeroCheck.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [InCD] C:\Program Files\Ahead\InCD\InCD.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime

I assume you're using AOL as an ISP?
C:\WINNT\wanmpsvc.exe
C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\AOL\ACS\AOLacsd.exe
C:\Program Files\Common Files\AOL\ACS\AOLDial.exe
C:\Program Files\America Online 9.0a\aoltray.exe

that backwebthingie is from logitech its not malicious
Perhaps not malicious, but certainly uneeded

EDIT: i just realized i answered this post a long time ago :p

Before running ad-aware again, go into msconfig and disable all items from the Startup tab. Reboot and then run ad-aware again.

Word of caution when using spyware removal tools, make sure you download winsockfix.exe (do a google search for winsockfix). Spyware removal utilities have a tendancy to corrupt TCP/IP connection settings.

winsockfix will clean up your TCP/IP connection and rebuild the database

Yeah, Praetor hit the nail on the head....

Every once in awhile I will run ad-aware and always be supprised to find at least a couple intruders...the problem with spyware is that while one day you may not think you have a problem the next you are frantically Alt F4'ing all the pop ups =)
