iv'e reasd that onboard uses more of the cpu etc then a seperate sound card but considering i only use two speakers on this computer and it delivers enough sound for me i figured maybe i didn't need it. the extra 40 bucks isnt much for the card but hey if it works then its cool. plus a 5400 is like 2.6ghz[ i think] so i have some speed to spare. honestly though should i invest in a seperate card? im only using this comp for warhammer-online and possibly Lotr online

i appreciate all your help on this guys. if i ditch one of the Hard drives wouldnt i forfeit some speed? im only gonna play two games at most but both are big [ DaoC and warhammer now lol ]. what would more ram net me besides memory etc?

If youre getting a xfire compatible mobo why wouldn't you be getting 2 vid cards?

what would more ram net me besides memory etc?
What would more RAM get you besides memory? RAM is memory, it wouldn't get you anything but more memory. It'll make your computer faster.

No, the hard drives are going to determine very little of your computers speed. More RAM is going to make everything load faster and perform better overall.

ahh well like the name reads im new so i appreciate your input. well then i'll ditch one of the HD's. 160gb should be enough anyway. its strictly for gaming so -shrug-. as for the xfire question , i don't know if i wanna keep the 1950 yet , ati is dropping two newer cards [ dont know if they will perform better then the 1950] but if the marks are higher im gonna drop the 19 and go with the 2600 for the dx10 compatibility. i havent seen them tested as of yet so i dont know [ if you have a link let me know please. ].plus the 1950 is a solid start for a GPU. 2900 was a little excessive at the moment considering i havent even seen what the req are for warhammer. however i'll go with more ram , i'll just double it and go with that.
