Surprised he doesn't have like 4gbs of ram or something, get all top of the line equipment.

its all about the overclocking for these people and not the gaming and such, they purposley build rigs to overclock the living daylights out of them

this particular one was running a a temp of approx -90 degrees celsius

Hehe, that reminds me of the time my computer started smoking... Twas my first computer, I guess the power supply had a short in it or something and it started smoking.... I know that's off topic, but it's quite funny. :D

Thanks :)

I remember back a couple years when 5GHz was first broken with a liquid nitrogen-cooled processor...I still have that video and I love it. It's fun to watch.

Yup, these guys just want to see how high their CPU can go. They have mid-range video cards, such as the 7800GT just for the newbies who want to see a 3DMark score :P

if i had the oppertunity to push a CPU that far... i would go a step further and put a SLI setup on phase change too.... and then see what you can get in 3DMark.. just for the newbies ofcourse.. ;) :P

im soon getting a e6600, and yes, im planning on overclocking it, but on standard HSF air cooling, so i dont expect to see anything that high, im aiming for 3.5Ghz, any higher is a bonus, any lower and i will be disappointed (and go buy water cooling) lol

You shouldnt be surprised ... you'll notice the higher overclocked systems tend to have lower memory counts and lower memory densities .... thats cuz the higher the density, the finickier the modules and the generally lower results. :)
