How are gamers doing on Windows 8?

Noticed a few people running Windows 8 as their default OS around here, how's gaming on Windows 8?

It shouldn't be much different from 7 but I'd like to know of any issues you've encountered while gaming on Windows 8. I suspect the Start screen will be a bit of a problem, might cause some crashes or something, idk.

other than BLR i've done fine, and some games seem to perform worse than they should but not sure what's causing that and they still do fine. BLR has issues in general though, heard it's just uber buggy for everyone about.

What is BLR? And do you think the performance issues are due to your GPU drivers?

Blacklight Retribution, good F2P on steam, FPS shooter. Doubtful, win8 drivers and reloaded multiple time although a good clean wipe and install might be in order to test

Oh, that game was awfully slow on my computer when I installed it, but my GPU is to blame :P

I am looking to get Windows 8, but I don't want to replace windows 7 with it. any chance I can do that?

Do what I plan to do: Have two hard drives, one with Windows 7 and one with Windows 8. I've got all my files and games on a second drive so it will work out great.

You don't even need two HDDs to dual-boot, you can partition one HDD in half and put Windows 7 on one partition and 8 on the other.

you can get 60gb ssds really cheap now, i'd get that for win8
I personally wouldn't spend that kind of money just to test Windows 8 :P I'd go and spend it on a 120 GB SSD to use as my primary drive, lol.
But i see that Windows 8 demo version it boots and loads quite fast even on a 5200 RPM HDD.
I know, I love the boot times. It's one of the reasons why I want to give it a chance.
