how good is high speed extreme?

The High speed extreme service offers :Modem set-up of up to 6.0 Mbps download and 800 Kbps upload. The normal Hi-Speed service varies from download 128kbps to 3.0 mbps, and upload 64kbps to 384kbps. If you had the second best service your upload and download speed would DOUBLE.

I have their business account with 6Mbps down and 800Kbps up and its great...if you download often then I'd rocommend it

Ill just quote myself for this one, It says DOWNLOAD speed..so only when your downloading small files before entering some css servers and such...but your ping should be relatively low.

i know this is offtopic from everything else in this thread. but what does ping mean and what does it do.

Ping is the same as latency. Ping is measured in ms (millisecond). The higher the ping is the more "lag" you experience. This is a result of slow data transfer between you, the "client" and the server.
