How to make my volume buttons work (laptop)

Hello my laptop is a Sony Vaio. Sorry I don't know the model number, but the point is that my laptop has a Volume button, but when I press it nothing happens. Only the Power Button responds to when I press it -_-

I don't know if I disabled it or what I just want it working again. The same goes for the cd drive. There is a button to press, but it doesn't work the only time is works is when I press the rectangular button for a bout 5 seconds. Can someone help me out here thanks.:D

i think u missed some drivers which is needed for the button to work. my toshiba hav such things n they work fine with right drivers installed. its a good idea to visit sony website n d/l the correct drivers or rather all the driver related to ur system u may find the model no. in the right corner of the screen or underside.
