I need some help...

I want to install AutoCAD 2004 onto my laptop... I can get it from my friends computer at work but I believe the program is pirated so there is no software for me to install it onto my comp. Also his computer doesn't have a CD/RW drive, so I couldnt just burn it onto a CD and then install it onto my comp. And the program is too big to fit onto a floppy disk... So my question is how can I get AutoCAD installed onto my comp from his computer? Could I use an ethernet cable to transfer the program. Or would it be easier for him to just E-mail it to me? Also how would I go about doing this... like I mean do I have to go into programs find the autoCAD folder then right click and copy it and then paste it as an attachment on an e-mail? PLEASE any help at all would be great.

You might be able to copy the program files directory... ut it would probably be about 4 gigs... Maybe if he has a router and you plug into it... he shares his folder and you copy the whole thing.. Maybe!

you can also plug the computer together with a crossover cable and share the files as well. i would not recommend emailing it because email is not designed to handle things over 5MB. i know it can do it, but i does not mean it should be done ;) if you want to go that route, i would recommend uploading it to an ftp server and then downloading it from there.

One point that goes aganist my email claim above; Gmail. gmail is designed to handle large attachments, and right now are offering up to 2.5GB of space. . .

I dont think u can make AutoCAD work by just coping the whole Directory. It needs maning registry enteries as well. So leave that hope of coping the file n working on Autocad. U may try to copy his Reg as well which may get u something to work with. But it not at all reliable for such a big software.

U may setup a network with his computer and use the software through networking. NOthing else.

Try to get a installer CD rather.
