I wish I hadn't sent this email from work... can it be traced?

Hello

I may or may not have done a silly thing. At work today, I was logged in as myself and sent an email from my yahoo email account.

The email had nothing to do with work at all and although there's no harm in the email, it would be embarrassing if anyone from work was able to see what was written in the email or who it was sent to.

The email was sent to someone that is not connected with where I work.

I know that the server at work would keep a log of emails sent from my work email address and also of websites I visited. However this is different, it wasn't sent from my work email address and yahoo is a site that we are allowed to access.

I'm assuming that there is no way that the server at work can find out the content or recipient of emails sent from a yahoo account because that would be a breach of privacy. I also imagine they would be unable to do it without specifically approaching yahoo and requesting the information.

Am I right in thinking this?

Thanks

Unless you stored your password on the comptuer, there is no way that anyone at your company could read your email.
