Do yo have annoyingly long loading times between missions and in general? It's crazy. I'm pretty sure its not my computer, I mean everything else is pretty much normal, FPS are nice and playable. It's just those loading screens that are seriously keeping me from playing this game which I've been waiting on for years.
 
I'm installing it right now, going to play the campaign first, will let you know if I have the same problem.
 
So far it's awesome, was lucky I got a copy today, everywhere did midnight openings last night and on my way to work this morning I drove past Best Buy and the line was huge.
 
1GB of ram isnt exactly...alot. Also what hard drive are you running, because a slow HDD will negatively impact load times.
 
Sounds to me this is a RAM problem, I cant even remember when I had a computer with 1 GB RAM. But that has nothing to do with this topic though.

Low RAM should impact loading times.

How's other programs loading on your computer, especially heavy games ?
 
Also, depending on the size of your HD and how fragmented it is can affect it as well. I have a 1 TB HD with like 8 gb's free and even though my disk isn't fragmented it still takes a while because my disk is huge, and maybe a little slow, I'm not sure. But I often have longer load times than most others. Still, mine are under 1-2 minutes. I'm not talking about 5-10 minutes to paly a level, thatd be crazy. But under 20 seconds would be awesome. I almost want to get a SSD just for games.

Yeah I'm hoping its the HDD. It's a 120GB SATA that came in a cheap Compaq Presario bout 4 years ago, definitely nothing fancy. But I mean the minimum required RAM on XP is 1GB, but that shouldn't mean it takes ages to load does it? I mean the gameplay itself is decently smooth on Ultra settings. By the way, these loading times are much faster if I play a match against AI.

Yeah... mine are like 5 minutes long :P I need a new drive! And RAM while I'm at it.

my load times are fie TBH but seeing as im pretty sure this game doesnt even work on XP which leaves vista or 7 and both require more than 1GB or RAM sorry mate you need more.. i have 4GB and i think thats too less i will be getting 6GB of 1866mhz soon
 
It does work on Windows XP. I play it on Windows XP Pro SP3 fine. I figured out I needed more RAM so I got 4GB and did a re-install. That fixed the problem. My loading times are fine now.
 
I have 30 second load times with my sig system. I can't really verify this time as my main rig is currently disabled but nothing as bad as you.

My system has yet to ever pass 3GB on any game except for GTAIV but I did the memory trick to improve performance. Also my 512mb DDR system I am currently using while I wait for my RMA on my PSU runs windows 7 just fine and dandy. Kinda surprised me really as I remember hating this system :P
