Installing new MB?

I want to upgrade my Pentium D 2.8 ghz processor, but my MOBO Intel BOXD945PVSLKR LGA 775 Intel 945P ATX does not show it supports any processor about Pentium D so probably have to install new mobo and processor.

I am not a gamer, I am a photographer who runs programs like Photoshop, Premier etc, and have lots of Hard Drives so Intell has been my choice of processor.

If I install a new mobo, and processor using all the same hard drives I have, will all my programs and files be intact including my OS?

Usually if installing a new motherboard then a fresh install of the OS is needed.

On my C Drive (250 Gigs) would I also use all my Adobe software installed, or is there a way to reinstall the OS with out formating the entire drive?

Theres ways of doing it without reinstalling the OS but I would still back up all my stuff. Before you change boards go to your control panel in add and remove and device manager and uninstall all your drivers, all of them-chipset-video-usb-sound-LAN and so on. Change your board out and when you boot the first time boot into safe mode, if it boots let it install windows generic drivers, shut down and reboot in normal mode and install all your new drivers If that doesnt work just do a repair install after you change the board. When you boot the first time just run a repair install from the cd and all your programs will still be there and youll need to reupdate windows. But either way you will have to revalidate windows.
