intel core & intel pentium???????

I want to know which is the difference between intel Core and intel pentium?
as an example in order to play to a video game serves me 2500GHz but intel Core with 2000GHz coast too much but intel pentium 3600GHz coast a lot less. I wanted to know which is the reason for which the game with intel Core that costs more and is more powerful it does not work but with intel pentium 3600GHz that works well?

First off, i think you mean 2500mhz, not ghz, as that would be insanely fast

Core 2 Duos are much MUCH faster than pentium 4's, mainly due to different architectures, the Core 2 duos use Core architecture while the P4's use netburst.

ok, simply the Core's microarchitecture is better because it can processes more in a single clock cycle than the pentium 4s
