Internet on 2 seperate PCs

I am thinking of gettin a PC for my room and want to be able to connect to the internet.
The PC downstairs is on internet with standard 56k Modem(not broadband) and want to know will i be able to share the same phone line to connect to the internet without paying additional costs.

I understand i wont be able to have both PCs connected at same time.

Will i just have to copy the dialing connection file on to new PC?

Yes, copying (or creating a new, but identical) connection should work. With some work you can actually have simultaneous coneects but that would be wonky with 56K
