involentary mouse cursor movement

I've had my Dell inspiron laptop for a few years now, and just recently i started having a problem with the mouse pointer moving around without my prompting. i played around a little bit, and it appears as though the movement is in responce to pressure on the keyboard. so i decided to call up dell and see if they could help me out. i prefer to speak to a human about such issues, so i used the phone # i found (after a little while of looking around thier website) i called, and the electronic prompts led me to the point where i needed to enter my service tag. gone.. peeled off a year ago. well it turns out that to email dell, to talk to a human at dell, or even to do their online chat thingy, i need my service tag (gone.)
so i tried an email anyway, went something like this:

I've had my laptop computer for a few years, it's an Inspiron 8500, and now just recently it has started to act up a little bit. I have both the touchpad and eraser type mouses built in, but for the most part use external usb mice, and when i'm not it's the touchpad. rarely do i use the eraser. the problem is that, when i type, the mouse pointer seems to start moving, and it will continue moving after i stop typing. it appears as though it responds to certain keys more than others, such as T, for example. the harder i press the faster the pointer moves. TGY and B seem to be the ones that evoke the most responce, and they all seem to force the mouse pointer to drift to the bottom left of the screen. I have tried doing this while no external mouse was plugged in and the problem remains the same. also, i don't have to push the keys down very hard at all to start seeing movement in the mouse, which led me to think that it might be a physical problem, but i dont see anything particularly sticking out between the keys or anything like that.
Also, it appears as though everything asks for my service tag, but i'm pretty sure that peeled off the bottom of the computer and my mom probably threw it out.
Thanks for any help,

so i click send on the email, and guess what: "service tag incorrect, please re-enter"
SOB
so perhaps someone here can help me out on this one?
Thanks for any help and sorry for the rant,

lol....oh dell.......

ok, listen, uve had the comp for a while and im sure its out of warranty (right?) so, get a screwdriver, flip the compy over and look for screws marked with a "K" these screws will allow u to remove the keyboard from the computer and look underneath it. maybe u can see something under there. its worth a start.

if your palm is hot, the glide pad will sense the heat causing the cursor to move. so don't put your entire palm over the pad when you type.

heat, huh?

thats a very interesting idea about the heat.. i tried standing a decent while away and poking the keys with a stick (LOL! what would someone watching me do this think!!!).. anyways problems still there, however, now that i think about it, this would have started happening just after i got my ChillHub (Targus) thing cus my computer was getting reallly hot on my new desk... perhaps i'll try working without the cooler for a couple days and see if that might be the problem somehow.. also, one thing i guess i forgot to mention was that it doesnt seem to be a direct pressure to movement ratio: it depends on the day, and how mad the comp is at me lol.. what does this mean?
thanx,
VP

also

also, i wouldnt feel completely confident taking apart my computer (even if its such a simple thing as checking the keyboard from beneath).. anyone think of a store or something who has professionals that might be willing to check it out tho?
