I was wondering if this is possible. I really have been wanting to play Command and Conquer Red Alert and some other games and was wondering if i can buy or download a program to be able to run these.

yes, its a feature of windows XP, its called "Compatibility Mode" sure it doesnt always work, and its a bit patchy at times, but hey... install whatever game it is so you've got the main .exe file to run it, right click on that and select PROPERTIES. Select the COMPATIBILITY tab at the top of the window check the box, then choose Win 95 or 98 depending on what the game was designed for

if that doesnt work, buy the command and conquer: the first decade.

It has...pretty much everything and it'll work on newer computers (for example, i have red alert but it wont work, my friend has the first decade and it works)

I think its like 20bucks?

if you are going to buy command and conquer you might aswell get the new one. red alert will work. i used to play it on xp

I've played the original red alert on XP when XP first came out. Other than running insanely fast and the videos not playing right it worked fine. I had to turn the in game speed to minimum and run a CPU cycle eater for it to be slow enough.
