Is it worth the extra $$$

Just make sure you get a good GPU. You'd probably be better cutting back a bit on the CPU if it means more cash towards a GPU.

whats ur max budget

u might want to get a c2d 1.8 and a 8800gts 320mb and 2gb ram i would def go for the 8800gts and 2gb ram but if u have more money u can get the e6600 also the 1.8 can overclock pretty good on a nforce 680i sli

if ur going to get an e6400 and overclock, id say u should save even more and get an e6300 and overclock that. You're essentially saving 35-40 dollars by losing .27 ghz stock and 2 mb cache while u save 20 (before price cuts take full effect??) by ONLY losing .23 ghz with the e6300. And doesnt the e6300 overclock just about as high as the e6400??

id personally go with the e6600 from those two choices though.

The e4300 would do as well. The question is does the OP want a high end gaming machine in performance AND components? I mean a e6600 just looks better when bragging to your buds and all...

I, of course, would get an e4300 and save the money. But bragging isnt really my thing and all..;) :D
