Is there such a thing...

...as a case that includes a decent PSU?

I'm in the market for both at the moment, and would really like to get a case that includes a decent PSU.. rather than pay for each item + 2 shipping quotes.

I need something that has around 18a+ 12v rail(s), 2x 12v rails are great.. as for a case, doesn't have to be extremely fancey, something that more than 2x 5.25" bays and plenty of storage for HDDs.. mid tower would be best.

Not really, I haven't really regretted trusting a stock PSU, but I always feel edgy...

I think I need a new PSU.. I tried installing COJ today and it froze my PC, so I ejected the CD and the PC went back to normal within a few seconds.. it didn't do this before I installed the video card and second HDD..

It did freeze, though.. but when it froze it wouldn't unfreeze, a reboot was in order.. I downloaded a M$ patch that fixed that, but now I think I need a new PSU since delta is only 250w =(

The problem I'm having is that PSU's can run around $80 for a good one, where-as cases with similar PSU's run around the same price.. but it worries me to think that a faulty PSU could fry my entire system.

Okay....so you need a new PSU? For the rig in the sig? What's the budget?

As little as possible without putting my rig in serious danger.. I need a 400w+, and it has to have at least 18a on the 12v rail, dual 12v rails are a big +

Also, my WD sata drive has legacy power support, so the PSU doesn't need SATA connections.. they're a plus, though.. but I have a mix of IDE and SATA drives so it doesn't matter =)

Are you serious? It looks great, but I thought the more flashy the unit, the less that went into building it's internal components, at least at that price..

I believe the Antec Sonata includes a Eartwatt PSU,which is pretty nice for the typical builder. Otherwise, most cheap cases comes with crap PSU and highend cases doesn't come with any.

Is that Ultra X-Connect PSU a good buy, though? It fits the specs I need and looks good...

EDIT: I need a 24pin connector.. so these PSUs don't fit the bill =(

If you really wanted to make it worth your while, I would hunt around and try to find a good price on a Corsair or Seasonic. Seasonic makes Corsair so yeah, my friend has an old Seasonic and it's like 5 years old, that thing still runs good.

I just want an inexpensive, good working PSU.

It looks like I can buy the ATX 24 pin modular cable for that PSU you recommended earlier, but is the PSU actually any good?

Then it wouldn't be 4 stars. It would haev blown on all the computrs, correct?

Otherwise that.

Remember - Rosewill's other products suck except the PSUs.

I really don't know.. I'm sure that more people with negative experience post results than those with positive, so I suppose you're logic makes sense :)

Either way, I don't need anything flashy in my case.. I have an Acer T180 case, 1 giant vent on the side and soon to have a single UV light, nothing fancy.

My budget for this PSU is $60, shipped... I'd prefer to spend alot less than that.

I'm currently looking at this PSU, everyone who left feedback liked it.. but I'd like to know what you guys think.. my rig is in my sig, for reference... and I have quite a few USB power items, if that matters.

Any Antec case with PSU will fit the bill e.g. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129031 (the PSU is quite sufficient for your system). Whether that would actually be any cheaper is debatable, though.

A lot of the Ultra cases include decent PSUs for the money. This, for example, is sub-$50 and quite sufficient for your system.
I wouldn't - you know when you see a PSU with a 20 pin connector it's a much older design. Ultra's newer units are better for the money, IMO.

Definitely avoid - watch it melt

With regard to other recommendations, you can take a look at my entire list: http://www.computerforum.com/90117-ceewi1s-psu-recommendations.html. Even this Hipro would be sufficient for your system: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817174019

I checked out your list, great list by the way, but alot of them have low 12v rails.. that cheapest Hipro you listed has 19a, but it's only 300w... my 7600GT asks for a 350w w/ 18a on the 12v rail, will that cheap hipro suffice?

What about this one; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817234003

Also, my board requires that extra 4 pin connector near the cpu, I believe the standard is called ATX12V? So, I need a 24pin mobo conection as well as a second 4pin connection near the cpu =)

I wouldn't grab the cheapest one - that's more as a replacement for an older system or very lowend system. The second Hipro with dual +12V rails is much better.

The Winsys is OEM Sun Pro, I wouldn't. You'd be better off with the Hipro I recommended.

With regard to the 4 pin connector, it's been standard for a long time. Any modernish PSU should have one, but yes, you do need both this and a 24 pin ATX main (you can use a 20pin, but I certainly wouldn't be buying a new PSU with only a 20 pin).
