Is there such thing as a "reputation"

I'm registered with the pearl drum forum and they have a reputation button to push to add/subtract reputation points on to that user... is there an option where we can have that here? i think that'd be sweet!

It's a standard feature in the vBulletin forum software (which this forum is running).

A lot of administrators turn it off because it can be easily abused, and it creates an extra "rank" amongst the members. ("Shut up dumbo, I have higher rep then you.")

Yeah I havent activated it because of the potential for abuse, besides you would have a lot of cases of friends just giving reputation to friends, etc
But we do have a way of recognising those people who have a high level of knowledge in a particular computer related field. A little expert text label will appear under the LED rank image, providing that particular member doesnt mind being identified as an expert.
