Just got all my comp (see my sig).
Currently I can get onto the BIOS but no further.

Do I use the mobo cd before the OS cd?
What should I change on my BIOS?

Cheers.

yeah i did that, but when i save to CMOS the screen goes onto stand-by and nothing happens :S

oh and also, on boot-up it only recognises my cpu to be an 1800+...

Then how are you typing?

Do I use the mobo cd before the OS cd?

1. Use the mobo cd to load RAID/SATA drivers if needed, otherwise the OS cd comes first ... I dunno how you're gonna install an OS or anything while in BIOS though
2. Change the boot order to let you boot off CD before you boot off the HDD

yeah I did that, but when I save to CMOS the screen goes onto stand-by and nothing happens :S
Some mobos go into standby after leaving bios. Between powering down and up and again, the settings are saved

oh and also, on boot-up it only recognises my cpu to be an 1800+...
You can fix that after

how do i get out of stand-by?
if i do a hard reset then it comes up with Error the computer was not shut down properly. the cpu is now running at safe mode speed. Press del to enter bios to change settings.
So i do that and when i save to CMOS it goes into stanby, lol. Vicious circle.

By the way I got my OS installed and working. I just need to sort this BIOS thing now.
