K7S5A BIOS update help

ok i have never done a BIOS update before i have a K7S5A with a AMD Athlon XP 2400 on it an i want to update the bios to the one on this page

this is the info about my MOBO i thort i would need i just want to know if this BIOS update will work on my Board
(AMIBIOS simple setup utility - V 1.21.11.) that is what it said at the top of my BIOS setup screen.
an it said this when it detects ram an HDDs at the star as soon as u turn the computer on (K7S5A release 08/09/2002)
any help would be great thanks
 
The first step is to review the manufactor's instructions seen at http://www.ecs.com.tw/extra/flashutl/amiflash.htm

You will need to prepare a boot floppy 3 1/2" disk for booting the system with that once the bios update is downloaded. A copy of the update is placed at the root of the hard drive C as well as on the floppy itself. The guide there will take you through each step.
 
There you go then for the Windows flash tool. On just about all new boards seen now you no longer see floppy driven tools but simply download a Winflash type update.
